Recently we had an opportunity to get our hands on lightly modified SLK.  The car has upgraded ECU and slightly boosted compressor. We were asked to improve the air flow and reduce the back pressure.

The solution:  custom made headers and high-flow exhaust.

The headers was calculated for max output in midrange R.P.M.as the car is owner’s daily driver and mostly being used for city driving. We used stainless steel for both headers and exhaust.  The manufacturing process pics are below. Note the quality of work Read more »

Here is a quick update on our  Mazda RX-7 project.  Not much time passed, but we  are already done with one of the major steps.  An old bolt-on safety cage had been replaced with new one, this time welded in. We had to create  custom construction this time as the Mazda’s owner is a tall guy, about 6′4”, so we had to give him some extra space.

Along with constructing various interesting projects, our company decided to implement an elaborate scheme of tuning stages. Introducing our first project built on this scheme –  Mitsu Evo 8.

Stage 1 on Evo 8 in our understanding of this is 350 hp and 450 nm torque

The idea behind this project was to make engine more driveable in full rpm range, we wanted to have high torque output from low rprm to the redline.  The car owner gave us green light  but made one request – an ability to continue use Premium gas (“98″  in Russia = “93″ in US).

Начинаем серию о создании Mazda Rx-7, точнее перестройки автомобиля для нового сезона дрифта и, возможно, трек дней.

Первый этап -  разборка автомобиля и подготовка под каркас.

В конце ноября  основатели Race Cars Only посетили Нюрбургинг.  Поезда была именно разведкой, сделать десяток-другой кругов по трассе, осмотреться, завязать новые знакомства.

В ближайшее время напишем более подробный отчет и, возможно, видео прохождения круга. А пока скажем лишь, что обоим удалось выехать из 10 минут на простой  машине – копейке BMW, мощностью что-то около 110 сил.
